This policy explains what information FlyingFuel (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit flyingfuel.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Comments: when you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser user agent. The IP address and user agent help us detect spam.
- Server logs: our hosting provider automatically records technical data for each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request.
- Email: if you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies so you do not have to fill them in again. These cookies last for one year. The site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy.
Third-party services
- Hosting: the site is hosted by Hostinger, which processes server log data on our behalf.
- Gravatar: when you comment, an anonymised string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture there. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy.
- Embedded content: articles may include embedded content such as videos or maps from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited that website directly, and that website may collect data about you and set its own cookies.
How we use information
- To display comments and protect the site from spam and abuse.
- To keep the site secure and working properly.
- To reply when you contact us.
How long we keep it
Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the comment remains on the site. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to keep some data for legal or security reasons.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
