Longest Non-Stop Flights in the World (2026): Top 10 Routes Ranked

The longest non-stop flight in the world is Singapore Airlines’ Singapore to New York JFK route, about 15,340 km between the two airports and roughly 18 to 19 hours in the air. Its Singapore to Newark flight is only a few kilometres shorter.

Below are the 10 longest non-stop passenger routes as of October 2026, the aircraft that fly them, and the even longer Qantas flights planned for 2027. We also explain why some famous ultra-long routes are no longer non-stop this year.

How we ranked them: distances are great-circle distances between the airports, calculated by FlyingFuel from OurAirports airport coordinates. Route status was checked against airline sources on 15 October 2026. Schedules change often, so always check with the airline before you book.

1 and 2. Singapore to New York JFK and Newark

Singapore Airlines flies non-stop from Singapore to both New York airports, John F. Kennedy (JFK) and Newark. The two routes are almost the same length, about 15,340 km, and flights take roughly 18 to 19 hours.

The airline announced in 2018 that it would launch these flights with the Airbus A350-900ULR, an ultra-long-range version of the A350 that carries more fuel. It has only two cabins, Business and Premium Economy, with 161 seats in total, so there is no standard economy class on these flights.

3. London to Perth

Qantas flies a Boeing 787-9 between London Heathrow and Perth, about 14,500 km. It was the first regular non-stop passenger link between Europe and Australia when it started in 2018.

In 2026 the route is not non-stop in both directions. The Qantas route list says flights from Perth to London are currently operating via Singapore, while London to Perth continues direct.

4. Dallas/Fort Worth to Melbourne

Qantas links Dallas/Fort Worth with Melbourne non-stop, about 14,475 km, also with the 787-9. Its partner American Airlines has its biggest hub in Dallas, so the route connects Australia with much of the US.

5. Paris to Perth

Qantas also lists Paris to Perth, about 14,270 km. The airline says its Paris services are changing so that northbound flights start in Sydney and operate via Singapore instead of Perth, so check the routing when you book.

6. Auckland to New York JFK

Both Air New Zealand and Qantas fly non-stop between Auckland and New York JFK, about 14,215 km. Qantas sells the flight as part of a Sydney to New York service via Auckland.

7. Dubai to Auckland

Emirates flies non-stop between Dubai and Auckland, about 14,200 km, with the Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft ever built.

8. Shenzhen to Mexico City

China Southern’s route from Shenzhen to Mexico City, about 14,130 km, is the longest from China. The flight to Mexico City is non-stop, but the return flight stops in Tijuana on the way back to China. Aviacionline covered the route’s launch.

9 and 10. Singapore to Los Angeles and Sydney to Dallas

Singapore Airlines also flies non-stop to Los Angeles, about 14,100 km. Qantas links Sydney and Dallas/Fort Worth, about 13,800 km, mostly with the A380.

Routes That Are No Longer Non-Stop in 2026

  • Doha – Auckland (Qatar Airways), about 14,530 km. Once one of the very longest flights, it has been reported to operate with a stop since 2026.
  • Bengaluru – San Francisco (Air India), about 13,990 km. Air India’s non-stop flights from Bengaluru and Mumbai to San Francisco ended in February 2026, with closed Pakistani airspace cited as a main reason. The airline said it would look to bring them back if airspace restrictions ease.
  • Perth – London (Qantas). Currently routed via Singapore in this direction, as above.

Coming Soon: Qantas Project Sunrise

The record will be broken by Qantas. Under its Project Sunrise plan, it has ordered 12 Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft to fly non-stop from Sydney to London, about 17,020 km, and from Sydney to New York, about 16,010 km.

The first A350-1000ULR flew in 2026 and visited Australia during testing. Delivery has been delayed, and it was reported in May 2026 that the first aircraft is now due in 2027, with Sydney to London as the first route. The aircraft is based on the A350-1000, with an extra fuel tank so it can stay in the air for around 20 hours or more.

Longest Flights From India

With Air India’s Bengaluru and Mumbai to San Francisco flights suspended, the longest non-stop flight from India in October 2026 is Air India’s Delhi to San Francisco route, about 12,380 km between the airports. Air India increased this route to 10 flights a week in March 2026.

Indian airlines also fly long routes to North America and Europe, but closed Pakistani airspace has made many westbound flights longer, and some now need a stop.

How Do Planes Fly So Far?

  • Efficient twin-engine widebody aircraft. Modern jets such as the A350 and 787 burn far less fuel than older four-engine jets, which makes these routes possible.
  • Extra fuel and fewer seats. Ultra-long-range versions carry more fuel and often fewer passengers to stay within weight limits.
  • Flight planning. Airlines plan around winds, step-climb to higher altitudes as the aircraft burns fuel, and follow ETOPS rules over remote oceans.
  • Two or more crews. These flights carry extra pilots so the crew can rest in shifts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the longest flight in the world?

In October 2026 the longest scheduled non-stop passenger flight is Singapore Airlines’ Singapore to New York JFK route, about 15,340 km between the two airports. Its Singapore to Newark flight is only a few kilometres shorter.

How many hours is the longest flight in the world?

The Singapore to New York flights are scheduled for roughly 18 to 19 hours, depending on direction and winds. Flight times change with the season, so check the airline’s schedule.

What will be the longest flight in the world?

Qantas plans non-stop Sydney to London flights, about 17,000 km, with Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft under its Project Sunrise plan. London is the first planned destination, with flights reported for 2027. Sydney to New York is also planned.

What is the longest flight from India?

After Air India ended non-stop Bengaluru and Mumbai to San Francisco flights in February 2026, its Delhi to San Francisco route, about 12,380 km between the airports, is the longest non-stop flight from India.

Which aircraft fly the longest routes?

Mostly the Airbus A350-900ULR and Boeing 787-9, which combine long range with efficient twin engines. The Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 also fly some very long routes, and Qantas will use a special A350-1000ULR for Project Sunrise.

Why are some long flights not non-stop in one direction?

Winds and airspace closures can make one direction much harder than the other. In 2026, for example, Qantas lists its Perth to London flights as operating via Singapore while London to Perth continues direct.

How is flight distance measured?

This article uses the great-circle distance, the shortest path between the two airports over the Earth’s surface. Real flight paths are usually longer because of winds, air traffic routes and closed airspace.
