Bombardier is one of the biggest names in private aviation. The Canadian company builds the large-cabin Global jets and the smaller Challenger jets. In this guide we explain every Bombardier business jet in production in 2026, with the same facts for each: range, speed, cabin size, seats, engines, cockpit and what it is best for.
Quick answer: Bombardier makes five business jets. The Global 8000 (8,000 nm, Mach 0.95, up to 19 passengers) is its flagship and the fastest business jet in service. The Global 6500 and Global 5500 are large-cabin jets with a little less range. The Challenger 650 and Challenger 3500 are smaller super-midsize jets for flights of up to about 4,000 nm.

Bombardier: The Company in Brief
According to Wikipedia, Joseph-Armand Bombardier founded the company in Valcourt, Quebec, on 10 July 1942, and it is now based in Montreal. For decades Bombardier also built airliners, but it sold them off: its CSeries jet went to Airbus, which builds it today as the Airbus A220 (see our A220-300 vs E195-E2); its CRJ regional jet programme went to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 2019; and its turboprop business went to the company that became De Havilland Canada. By 2020 it had become a pure business jet company.
Wikipedia says Bombardier delivered 138 business jets in 2023, the most of any maker that year, and reported revenue of about US$9.6 billion in 2025 with roughly 18,900 employees.

1. Bombardier Global 8000: The Fastest Business Jet
The Global 8000 is Bombardier’s flagship and, the company says, the world’s fastest business jet. It has a top speed of Mach 0.95 and the longest range of any Bombardier, 8,000 nm, enough for nonstop city pairs such as Mumbai to New York. It is a development of the Global 7500, and Wikipedia notes that a Global 8000 test aircraft flew at Mach 1.015 in May 2021, faster than the speed of sound. AIN reported that Bombardier delivered the first one from its Toronto completion centre on 8 December 2025.

Cabin and interior
The cabin is 8 ft (2.44 m) wide and 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) high, and Bombardier divides it into a club suite, a conference suite, an entertainment suite and a principal suite with a bed, plus an entrance area for the crew and an en-suite bathroom. Its Nuage seats recline into a “zero-gravity” position, which Bombardier calls the first new business jet seat design in 30 years. The Soleil lighting system changes the cabin light to match the time of day at your destination to reduce jet lag, and the Pũr Air system uses a HEPA filter that Bombardier says captures up to 99.99% of particles. Owners can add a 55-inch 4K TV.

The cabin altitude is one of the most impressive numbers: at 41,000 ft the cabin is pressurised to feel like 2,691 ft, lower than on any airliner, which means less tiredness on long flights. We explain why jets fly so high in why planes fly at 35,000 feet.
Engines and performance
Two GE Passport engines give 18,920 lbf of thrust each. The Global 8000 can climb to 51,000 ft, well above airliner traffic, and needs only 5,760 ft of runway at maximum take-off weight. It is 111 ft (33.8 m) long, about the size of a small airliner. If you are curious how these engines work, see turbofan vs turboprop.
The Global 7500: where the 8000 came from
The Global 8000 is based on the Global 7500, which Wikipedia says was announced in October 2010, first flew on 4 November 2016 and entered service on 20 December 2018. More than 200 had been delivered by December 2024. Bombardier’s current line-up lists the Global 8000 in its place, and existing 7500s can be upgraded to the 8000 standard.

Best for: owners who want to fly almost anywhere nonstop, fast, with a cabin that works as a flying apartment.
2. Bombardier Global 6500: Long Range, Smaller Cabin
The Global 6500 carries up to 17 passengers up to 6,600 nm, enough for London to Singapore or New York to Dubai nonstop. It is a newer version of the Global 6000, with Rolls-Royce Pearl engines and Bombardier’s Smooth Flĕx Wing.

Cabin and cockpit
Bombardier lists five cabin areas: an entrance and crew suite, a club suite, a conference suite, a private suite and an en-suite bathroom. It has the same Nuage seats, Soleil lighting, Pũr Air filtration and 4K entertainment as the bigger Global. Pilots get the Bombardier Vision flight deck, with an optional Combined Vision System that blends a synthetic picture of the terrain with an infrared camera image to help in poor visibility.

Best for: intercontinental trips with a big group, at a lower price than the Global 8000.
3. Bombardier Global 5500: The Shorter Global
The Global 5500 is the shortest Global: 96 ft 10 in long, with a 40 ft 9 in cabin for up to 16 passengers. It flies 5,900 nm, enough for Paris to Shanghai or New York to Moscow, on the same Rolls-Royce Pearl engines as the 6500, and needs only 5,340 ft of runway, the shortest take-off of the Global family.

Inside, it has the same width and height as the Global 6500 and the same features, arranged as an entrance and galley, a connectivity and entertainment area, a club suite, a conference suite, a private suite and an en-suite bathroom. Best for: buyers who want a true large-cabin Global for flights of up to about 12 hours.
4. Bombardier Challenger 650: The Widest Challenger
The Challenger 650 is the latest version of Bombardier’s long-running Challenger 600 family. It carries up to 12 passengers up to 4,000 nm, and its cabin is 7 ft 11 in (2.41 m) wide, as wide as the Global 6500’s. That width, and a 4-seat divan that turns into a bed, make it popular for charter and medical flights.
