Dassault Falcon Jets: Every Model From the 2000LXS to the 10X Explained (2026)

Dassault Falcon jets are the French alternative to Gulfstream and Bombardier. Built by the same company that makes the Rafale fighter, they are known for fighter-style flight controls, short runway performance and, on some models, a distinctive third engine. In this guide we explain every Falcon in Dassault’s 2026 line-up, with the same facts for each: range, cabin size, seats, engines, cockpit and what it is best for.

Quick answer: Dassault lists five business jets. The new Falcon 10X (7,500 nm, a 9 ft 1 in wide cabin) is still in development and due in 2029. The three-engine Falcon 8X flies 6,450 nm, the wide-cabin Falcon 6X 5,500 nm, and the Falcon 2000LXS 4,000 nm. The three-engine Falcon 900LX completes the range.

Dassault Aviation: The Company in Brief

According to Wikipedia, Marcel Bloch founded the company as the Société des Avions Marcel Bloch in 1929; he later changed his name to Marcel Dassault. Based in Paris, Dassault Aviation builds both business jets and military aircraft, including the Rafale fighter flown by the French Air Force and Navy. That fighter know-how shows in the Falcons: the 10X, 8X and 6X have digital fly-by-wire flight controls.

There is an India link too. Wikipedia says Dassault’s facility in Nagpur will be the first outside France to host a final assembly line for the Falcon 2000LXS, and the first Nagpur-built Falcon 2000 is expected to fly in 2028.

1. Dassault Falcon 10X: The Widest Cabin (in Development)

The Falcon 10X is Dassault’s new flagship, built to take on the Gulfstream G700 and Bombardier Global 8000. Its headline is the cabin: 109 in (2.77 m) wide and 80 in (2.03 m) tall, wider and taller than either rival, with 38 windows that Dassault calls the largest it has ever fitted. It will fly 7,500 nm, enough for Paris to Santiago at Mach 0.85 or Geneva to Singapore at Mach 0.90, Dassault says. Wikipedia says Dassault launched it on 6 May 2021 at a price of US$75 million, it first flew on 19 June 2026, and it is now expected to enter service in 2029 after earlier targets of 2025 and 2027.

In the cockpit, the new NeXus flight deck has multi-touch screens and fully reclining pilot seats. A Smart Throttle works with the fly-by-wire system, and the FalconEye Combined Vision System can guide approaches down to 100 ft in poor weather. Passengers can have an optional Privacy Suite that converts between a meeting room and a bedroom. Best for: buyers who want the biggest cabin in business aviation and can wait until 2029.

2. Dassault Falcon 8X: The Three-Engine Long-Ranger

The Falcon 8X is the longest-range Falcon in service, flying 6,450 nm with 12 to 16 passengers on three engines, a classic Falcon layout. It can land with just 2,220 ft of runway at typical weight, useful at short or high-altitude airports. Wikipedia says it was announced in May 2014, first flew on 6 February 2015 and was first delivered on 5 October 2016, with an equipped price of US$62.5 million in 2022.

Inside, owners can choose a three-lounge layout with a shower at the back, an optional Privacy Suite and HEPA/ULPA air filtration. The EASy IV cockpit, based on Honeywell Primus Epic, has a digital flight control system and dual FalconEye vision systems. Best for: long trips that also need short or tricky airports.

3. Dassault Falcon 6X: Wide Cabin, Skylight

The Falcon 6X has one of the widest and tallest cabins in its class: 102 in (2.58 m) wide and 78 in (1.98 m) tall, with 30 windows and a unique skylight. It flies 5,500 nm with 8 passengers, or 5,100 nm at Mach 0.85. Wikipedia says it was launched in December 2017, first flew on 10 March 2021, was certified by the FAA and EASA in August 2023 and entered service on 30 November 2023, at an equipped price of about US$54 million (2023).

The 6X uses flaperons, control surfaces that work as both flaps and ailerons, plus the same EASy IV cockpit, digital flight controls and FalconEye system as the 8X. Best for: a large-cabin jet with a lot of headroom for transatlantic or Europe to Middle East trips.

4. Dassault Falcon 2000LXS: The Efficient Workhorse

The Falcon 2000LXS is the smallest Falcon: 8 to 10 passengers, a 26 ft cabin with the same 92 in width as the 8X, and 4,000 nm of range. It needs only 4,675 ft of runway at maximum weight, and it is the Falcon that Dassault plans to assemble in India.

It has the older EASy II cockpit with an optional FalconEye system, optional high-speed internet and HEPA/ULPA filtration. Best for: transatlantic and transcontinental trips from shorter runways.

5. Dassault Falcon 900LX

The three-engine Falcon 900LX still appears in Dassault’s aircraft list, but its model page was not available when we checked in October 2026, so we have not listed its figures here. We will add them once Dassault publishes them again.
